About the Parade

The Wauconda Memorial Day Parade is a proud tradition of the American Legion Post 911.  Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2011, the American Legion members proudly organize the Memorial Day Parade. The Memorial Day Parade donations and raffle raise funds for the parade, American Legion Scholarships and American Legion projects. The parade has grown over the years but under the stewardship of Joe Munson it has become the largest Memorial Day parade in Lake County, Illinois. The parade includes military groups, politicians, marching bands, businesses, community and school groups, Boy Scouts, Shriners, and floats. Most years there is a fly over exciting the crowd.

The parade is supported by donations and a raffle. Please consider making a donation and purchasing raffle ticket. The raffle has a grand prize of $2,000.00 (exact amout to be determined) - and additional cash prizes. Prize amounts will be determined based on ticket sales up to 600 tickets.
